We exist to glorify
God by making
sharing the Gospel of
Christ and His
First Baptist Church of Westerlo
We thought it very important as an Elder Board to touch base with you again at this
strategic time and give you another update on where we are in the interim-transition
process. Pastor Randy Madison has been with us now for 13 months serving as our
interim pastor. He and Elizabeth have enjoyed serving our church during this
important chapter in our history.
We have now completed the "transition team" phase of the interim period. The
transition team is no longer meeting and has completed its work. We elected our
new Pastoral Search Committee on Sunday, September 25 at a specially called
congregational meeting. The Pastoral Search Committee will have its first meeting on
Thursday evening, October 6 at 7 pm.
Please be in prayer for our Pastoral Search Team of Angel Wisenburn, Walt Hubicki
Sr., Doug Berg, Tom Mitchell, TJ Johnstone, Joe Amedio, and John Gardiner as they
begin their work. Please pray for Pastor Randy also. He will be working with the
committee, offering his experience and advise, as well as, the experience and advise
IPM has to offer the church, although he will not vote on the decisions the committee
and church will make during this critical period. Please pray regularly for this group as
they search for the person God knows for the next chapter in FBCW's service for
Christ and His Kingdom here in the Hilltowns and around the world!
If you have any questions about the details of the process from this point forward
please contact John Gardiner chair of our elder board or Pastor Randy.
Serving Christ Together,
PS Please take the time to thank the members of our Transition Team who worked
diligently on behalf of our church family for almost a year. The members of the Team
were: Rick Stark, John Gardiner, Russ Hilton, Mike Collins, Tom Mitchell, Paula
Spahmer, Phyllis Richardson, Krista Daudiss, and Jill Diehl!
Interim Pastor Update and Timeline
“A new commandment I
give to you, that you love
one another, even as I have
loved you, that you also
love one another. By this
all men will know that you
are my disciples, if you
have love one for
another.” John 13:34-35

Pastor Randy and the Elders want to thank every person in the FBCW family who has committed to pray regularly for our church, the leadership and the Interim Pastor and his wife, Elizabeth during this time of transition! This is an opportunity for the Lord to do a mighty work in our church and use us to reach out to the Hilltowns and surrounding area with the love and gospel of Christ! Please do not stop praying! Continue to pray that God will work in each of our hearts and our entire church!
The Elders, Pastor Randy and Transition Team want to thank every person who invested time helping our focus groups identify issues and generate ideas for our Elders to consider this past summer. We also thank everyone who took the time to complete the different surveys you were asked to complete! Your participation has been a help to our church as we move forward! THANK YOU!
An Open Door
It is our privilege as Elders to serve and lead the church body.
The Elders would like to convey our desire to hear from you on any needs or concerns that individuals may have. Please feel free to contact any of the Elders or the church office to schedule a time to meet or for a time at the next Elder’s meeting. Please do not stop! Please continue to pray that God will work in each of our hearts and our entire church!
